Amber and Hamish’s wedding was an inspiration to true cricket fans everywhere. This is a couple who love the sound of leather on willow way more than merely paying homage to their local team. So rather than take their wedding to the cricket ground, they brought cricket to their beautiful big day at the Peak District Holiday Barn in Buxton. Here guests could enjoy a fantastic innings with a wild and dramatic backdrop. And there was no chance of getting lost on their way to the venue either, because the happy couple had their own road sign! Howzat!
After an emotional sunlit ceremony on the lawns, while the guests were immersed in nibbles and the promise of cricket, Amber, Hamish and I headed over to nearby fields and meadows to take some bride and groom portraits. There were so many rockscapes and flowers to choose from, we were spoilt for choice.
Back to the venue and it was time to play the first of many cricket games, the wedding breakfast, as well as speeches which were both touching and hilarious. A great time was had by all. What a hit for 6!
I took more group shots of family and friends throughout the day, and as the sky darkened later on, we headed out for more couple portraits to capture their joy of being there together, in that special place, on that special day. The day ended with a lively disco and lots of singing. Huge congratulations to the newlyweds. I’d like to wish Amber and Hamish all the very best.
