Oulton Hall - Leeds - Kate & Gav

Posted on 17th October 2025 by Mark Tierney

I had the honour of photographing my good mates Gav and Kate’s wedding at the stunning Oulton Hall, and honestly, it was one of those days that reminded me exactly why I love doing this job.

If that wasn’t special enough, Gav’s also a wedding photographer himself – someone who’s spent years behind the camera capturing other people’s big days. To be the one trusted to document his was a proper privilege and a huge compliment. No pressure, right?

I teamed up with our mate Chris Thornton, and between the two of us we covered the day from every angle. Two mates, two cameras, and one incredible atmosphere. There were a few other photographer friends around too, which made it feel even more special — like one big creative reunion wrapped up inside a wedding celebration.

From the morning beers with the lads to the emotional ceremony, there was a real sense of joy in every part of the day. One of the most touching moments for me was seeing Gav surrounded by everyone who matters most to him. Having everyone there, exactly as it should be, made the day feel complete — and you could see just how much it meant to him.

Kate looked absolutely incredible as she made her entrance down that grand staircase with her bridesmaids – it was pure movie magic. Oulton Hall, with its golden light and beautiful interiors, was the perfect backdrop for the emotion and laughter that filled every room.

And then came the evening – confetti cannons, inflatable props, a packed dance floor, and a band that kept everyone going late into the night. It was chaotic, hilarious, and absolutely perfect.

Massive congrats to Kate & Gav — two amazing people, completely made for each other. It was an absolute joy to be part of your day and capture every moment of it — surrounded by friends, laughter, and a whole lot of love.
