Susie and Alex’s picturesque barn wedding in the Peak District was the epitome of rustic glamour. We took a few photos of the bride, her attendants, and her family, on the rural streets before it was time for everyone to climb into Susie’s uncle’s beautifully decorated landrover, which would take them to the ceremony.
All the floral displays (on the car, at the venue, as well as in the bouquets) were put together by the bride herself, in an amazingly original and creative way. Susie used dried flowers and foliage, mostly from her mum's garden, with a few bought bits mixed in.
Alex was very emotional as his wife-to-be made her big entrance, which set the tone for an incredibly moving exchange of vows. The couple’s victory dance as they headed outside towards the confetti was completely justified!
With confetti thrown, and canapés being served, I took some bride and groom portraits inside the barn, and around the outside, until it was time for the reception to begin. The venue, the Peak District Holiday Barn, is really spectacular!
I took some more portraits of the newlyweds a little later, after an exciting hour of speeches, complete with flying babies! As the sun sank down below the highest peaks, and the shadows lengthened, Alex, Susie, and I went for a final walk through the fields, in a truly glorious landscape. It was the perfect romantic setting, before the onset of the lively disco and band. Huge congratulations to the happy couple. Wishing them all the very best!
