Lake District Landscape Images, Helvellyn and Striding Edge, Cumbria

Posted on 22nd October 2009 by Mark Tierney

Here are some images from my trek up England’s third highest mountain – Helvellyn 3118ft via Striding Edge. The walk lasted 6 hours, and was very hard going but enjoyable. There were quite a few places where if you slipped, it could have been fatal! Striding Edge was pretty scary which is a narrow ridge with about 600ft drop either side! Take a look.
