As far as wedding drama goes, Abbie and Jake’s marriage ceremony at Halifax Hall in Sheffield had it all! Flanked by dozens of bridesmaids and groomsmen, there were tears, there was laughter, there was a victorious air-punch, there were cinematic kisses, there was a small child lying in the aisle, and there was the biggest cloud of confetti I’ve ever seen! It was hugely touching and a lot of fun.
After the newlyweds had tied the knot, we took some posed family and friends photos before going for a walk around the grounds to take a few initial bride and groom portraits. The venue had lots of atmospheric views, not to mention a garden full of very colourful blooms.
For our second round of bride and groom portraits, following some hilarious post-meal speeches, we walked over to the rocky scenery of Burbage Edge, next door in the Peak District. It had been a sunny day anyway, but by that time, the light was simply stunning, casting a beautiful glow on the landscape. And in order to get those special backdrops against the scenic horizon, I need to give a shout out to Abbie’s bridal crocs, which really made a walk across the moors a much easier task.
Back at the reception, the music played to a packed dance floor until long into the night. It was a truly memorable and emotional wedding. A great time was had by all. Big congratulations to the happy couple. Wishing you all the very best.
