For some couples, the sunshine simply follows them. This was certainly the case with Katie and Ben who got married at the ‘Cathedral of the Peaks’ church in Tideswell. The walk to church, past vibrantly colourful flowers, was bathed in glorious light, and the ceremony itself was filled with well-lit emotion.
After they emerged as Mr and Mrs, and the cheers for the happy couple had died down, we stopped to take some photos at Mam Tor. This was on our way back to Edale Gathering, the reception venue. Almost like a spotlight, the sun shone down on the newlyweds as they surveyed the dramatic scenery. Katie’s impressive athletic stile-crossing whilst in bridal shoes also deserves a special mention at this point!
The wedding breakfast at Edale Gathering was another visual triumph, but after the speeches, we were able to get some more exterior shots before the sun went to bed. A valley behind the main building served as the perfect backdrop to some relaxed bride and groom photos.
It was a fantastic wedding day, which was topped off by a band and a very packed dance floor, set against the picturesque stone walls of the venue. Huge congratulations to Katie and Ben. Hopefully, their new lives together will continue to spread light and love.
