Baslow Edge and Padley Gorge in the Peak District, Derbyshire

Posted on 16th December 2009 by Mark Tierney

These images were taken at Baslow Edge and Padley Gorge in the Peak District. I hoped for better light at Baslow Edge but it never happened. I was hoping for some dramatic clouds above the Derwent Valley – another time. I managed to photograph one of the many Highland Cattle wandering around and also one of the photographer – me wink The sun broke through for about a minute but not where I wanted. So I ventured down to Padley Gorge which is near to the popular Grindleford Station Cafe. On a grey day Padley Gorge is the perfect place for landscape photography. The low light helps with the long exposure effect on the waterfalls.
