Whirlowbrook Hall Wedding - Kathy & Paul

Posted on 31st January 2017 by Mark Tierney

Kathy and Paul's wedding was loud, fun and full of character. The couple got married at Whirlowbrook Hall and I'm not sure this Edwardian manner house in Sheffield will have fully recovered from the shock yet! As well as being Kathy's husband, Paul is also a very talented front man. Kathy, not to be outdone, joined him on stage for a few numbers, as did many members of the wedding party to provide a heavy rock finale to a glorious day.

That's not to say the day wasn't without its quieter, more romantic moments. As Kathy made her way up the aisle and joined Paul to their exchange vows, it was clear how much this day meant to both of them. We took a few photos in the grounds after the ceremony and an extraordinary amount of confetti was produced from pockets and thrown. The newly-weds and I then took a walk through the picturesque woodland on the estate. The paths were lit up with a beautiful warm autumnal light.

Back at the reception, great care had been taken to provide each table with its own quirky centrepiece. When the meal was complete there were some excellent speeches. Both Kathy and Paul thanked their guests and told a few stories, then it was time for the instruments to be set up and the aforementioned rock spectacular to get under way. One particular highlight was when the groom's dad gave away his favourite guitar as a surprise!

As the band finished its final song and the first dance got under way, everyone reflected on what an incredible marriage party this had been. Paul and Kathy are clearly very talented, as well as in love – what a great match. Their house will certainly be filled with sweet music. I'd like to wish them all the very best in their future together.
