Catherine and James’ wedding at Victoria Hall in Bradford was elegant, traditional, and heart-warming. With the clean lines of its white and green marriage theme, the venue was decorated with an abundance of understated sophistication. And this mood extended to the ceremony itself. The way in which James’s eyes lit up as he caught sight of his bride in her finery for the first time was very moving.
Then it was into the lobby to celebrate with drinks. I took a few reportage shots initially, before moving outside for some posed family portraits. While the guests enjoyed the canapés, I took the newlyweds for a walk around the nearby waterways of Bradford, where we found a picturesque bridge that doubled as a shelter when the rain started. It was lucky we had a wedding umbrella with us!
Back at the reception, everyone ate and enjoyed the speeches. We were fortunate in that the second set of bride and groom portraits could be taken outside without an umbrella. The rain held off while the sun went down. We took some photos inside too.
As the day turned in tonight, and everyone hit the dancefloor, we all reflected on what a brilliant day it had been. All the very best to a superb couple. Catherine and James, I wish you all the very best.
Thanks to my friend Chris Thornton Photography for second shooting for me!
