Sheffield Town Hall Wedding - Jenny & Scott

Posted on 9th March 2018 by Mark Tierney

Where do Game of Thrones fans marry, do you think? In which of the illustrious Houses of the North? In the case of Jenny and Scott, the setting was the suitably grand and castle-like interior of Sheffield Town Hall!

A large ceremony room offers the benefits of a long walk down the aisle, giving us all plenty of time to take in the beautiful bride as she made her way towards her husband to be. It was a very moving exchange of vows, with the couple clearly delighted to be tying the knot. Their betrothal was celebrated with huge hearty cheers from family and friends.

There was a chance for everyone to congratulate the newlyweds in the anteroom afterwards, while canapés were passed around and I took a mixture of reportage and posed portraits. Then Jenny, Scott and I went for a little walk around the city centre in the glorious sunshine.

The combination of old worldy charm, thanks to the helter skelter at a nearby funfair, and bright light reflecting off the glass and steel of the modern industrial buildings, made for a great backdrop.

Later on, we made our way over to the wedding reception. A few more couple portraits were taken outside here in the playing fields against a woodland setting. There was a dazzling late afternoon light.

The night was rounded off with a disco, as well as lots more laughter and fun. A great time was had by everybody and I’d like to congratulate Jenny and Scott once more. I’m honoured to have been part of the occasion.
