Some weddings are simply bigger and better than others and they don’t come much more glam that Steve and Antonia’s larger than life, big day at Rudding Park in North Yorkshire. Every single detail was impressive; from the tall ornamental flowers lining the aisle of the church, to Antonia’s dress, which had a train so long, it required its own room!
This was a wedding that everyone will remember, not just for its grandiose design, but because the sentiments behind it were so very touching. Here is a couple very clearly in love and unafraid to show it. From their shared laugher during the signing of the register, to the extensive speeches, toasts and lingering looks at one another towards the end of the meal, it felt very much like theirs was a love worth celebrating.
The couple tied the knot in church and sealed the deal with not one, but two cinematic kisses, before Steve carried the daughter outside, ensuring she was part of all proceedings. Outside I took some relaxed reportage photos of the guests, before we made our way over to the reception venue building. Then we took some staged shots before heading inside for some bride and groom portraits on the impressive staircase, which was the only place with enough room to show off the full majesty of that dress!
More bride and groom portraits were taken later outside, both in the early evening and as the sun set, before everyone headed back inside for a romantic first dance, as the newlyweds were serenaded by the band. This was an exceptional marriage between two exceptional individuals. There was so much support in the room for Antonia and Steve among their guests, that the whole day was very emotional. I’d like to wish them all the very best.
Thanks to my friend Andy Fyfe for seconding shooting for me.
