In early spring of this year I was asked to work with One Life Ceremonies, a Yorkshire based company that organises outdoor weddings at any location. As a big lover of our country’s beautiful landscapes, I was very happy to take part in a shoot at the stunning Goldsborough Hall near Harrogate. Laurra from One Life Ceremonies organised the mock wedding with Laura from Little White Book to show future brides and grooms that it is possible to hold your wedding ceremony in the beautiful outdoors.
This is what Laurra had to say about this event:
I organised this photo shoot as I wanted to show that you can hold your wedding ceremony wherever you like, it doesn’t have to be in the room of a hotel or a stuffy Register Office, couples are only limited by their imagination and we have conducted weddings in woodlands, fields, by rivers and in Papakata tents. I chose Goldsborough Hall as it is a pretty amazing wedding venue and it has the most beautiful grounds and landscaped gardens so I knew would provide a stunning backdrop to the shoot.
We also included a Handfasting which is an ancient tradition seen in many different cultures and religions where the couple’s hands are bound together, literally ‘tying the knot’, the couple attribute their own meanings to each of the cords such as happiness, health and fertility and tradition says that the marriage will last as long as the cords are tied. Many couples choose to do it after they have exchanged rings.
We certainly had a great day and any spectators would have never known the wedding was not actually real. Laurra's organisation was faultless and with the help of the fantastic model bride and groom - Shireen and Zabiar, I was able to capture some great shots of the occasion.
