Louise and Nick’s Wedding Photography - St John’s Church Hall and The Frog & Parrot Pub - Sheffield

Posted on 6th July 2010 by Mark Tierney

It has been a while since I have been to a wedding as a guest and not as the official wedding photographer. Louise and Nick kindly invited my family to their wedding which was held at St John’s Church Hall in Sheffield on a beautiful sunny day. Nick and Louise had a friend to photograph their wedding so I could relax at a wedding for once! I photographed a small wedding at the Sheffield Town Hall earlier in the day so I had all my camera equipment with me.

I could not resist taking some candid shots of the wedding party and their photographer did not mind too much! I loved the style of Louise’s wedding dress which was made by her cousin and also Nick’s blue shoes! I’ve been to many weddings and it’s the first time I’ve seen the old tradition of tying cans to the back of the wedding car. I had to capture the can’s especially being tied to Nick’s very cool old Citroen. The wedding reception was held at Nick’s pub which is the best pub in Sheffield in my opinion! - The Frog & Parrot on Division Street. Unfortunatley we were unable to make it to the reception due to family commitments, which was a shame because there were live bands and DJ’s playing cool music! (See below about some great news about Nick’s pub). Here are some images from Louise and Nick’s big day!

Nick has just had some great news because The Frog and Parrot has won the 2010 Best Bar None award, which recognises the pub as the most safe and responsible in the UK. If you are in Sheffield I recommend you visit the pub for the great atmosphere, live music, DJ’s and the food is very nice too. The Frog and Parrot is famous for its musical connections — Joe Cocker signed his first deal there, Guns and Roses once visited and it was there that Sheffield band Arctic Monkeys were discovered. Last year I saw Sheffield’s Jon McClure there who is the lead singer out of Reverend and the Makers listening to his brother’s up and coming band The Violet May – both bands are excellent especially live. By the way, the pub also features some of my local images of the iconic Tinsley twin towers! Here are some images I took of The Frog and Parrot last year.

Louise & Nick's wedding has also been featured on one of the UK’s top 10 wedding blogs - The Boho Wedding Blog smile
