Hemswell Court Hosts Another Happy Couple

Hemswell Court Hosts Another Happy Couple - Mark Tierney, Tierney Photography.

I was very pleased to be hired as the wedding photographer for Matt & Francesca's wedding in 2018.  The venue was Hemswell Court.  A very well respected wedding venue in Lincolnshire.  I've been fortunate to shoot a few weddings here.  It really is a stunning location.

Hemswell court is the perfect setting for a unique wedding experience.  The Venue offers assistance with the organisation of wedding celebrations. Which can help ease the pressure on couples planning the big day.
They cater to a variety of weddings, each unique in its character and arrangement. After an initial consultation with their experienced team, they take over and organise everything to your specification.  This is why Hemswell Court is such a popular venue for weddings.

After a morning of the normal, frenetic, pre-wedding preparation, the couple were welcomed into the venue by their friend who played acoustic guitar as they entered.

A Personalised Wedding

Matt and Fran's wedding was certainly tailored to their tastes with their musical tastes being very much in evidence.  It's fair to say that the wedding was traditional/modern, with a slight twist. The couple had taken care to make the wedding appeal to all their friends and family as well as having the specific personal touches for themselves.  As a couple, they share a love of heavy rock music and the Wedding Cake was a mini replica of the stage at the Download Festival.  With side panels of the happy couple and their favourite bands.

The couple were depicted on the cake in Marzipan, wearing their wedding gear and wellies, clearly sharing a love of the outdoors. In addition, Matt's personal interest was depicted in a marzipan drum kit, and Fran's had some Owls and Penguins.

The little touches were all there, such as a guitar case to collect the cards from guests and plenty of reminders for guests to share their mobile phone photos on Instagram using a special hashtag of #LiveLaughLoveLewis
In addition, there was a cute little sweets table, perfect for the children and one or two big kids too.

I found the spacious rooms at Hemswell court were absolutely great for photography.  The big Georgian style windows allowed plenty of light in for really natural photos of the bride and groom.
The light that came into the actual wedding ceremony was truly stunning, reflected from the fixtures and fittings to create a golden haze that makes the photos stand out.

After the registers were all signed we went outside for Confetti shots and specific portraits of the Bride and Groom.  Whilst they were waiting for some of the guests took advantage of the Garden games such as giant Jenga and garden limbo.  After that I took the Bride and Groom off for some photos in a nearby Cornfield which provided a great backdrop with some very moody and brooding skies, then we went inside for a drink and a good old boogie.

Getting Married Soon? Hemswell Court is a Fantastic Venue for Wedding Photos

If you think that you recognise the venue, you very well might.  Particularly if you're a film buff.  This former RAF Officers Mess was featured in the 1956 movie "The Dambusters".
Undoubtedly, Hemswell Court is one of the Lincolnshire's hidden treasures.   It's a Double-A, five-star wedding venue, and with all the history it has it makes a superb place to host a wedding.
