Some wedding locations are equipped with a view that perfectly captures the romantic mood of the day. Jing and Xing's wedding in Hathersage, in the Peak District, was one of those weddings.Instead of beginning the day with the ceremony, we took some couple shots out in the glorious Derbyshire countryside. The moors were alive with a rich covering of purple heather and as Jing and Xing climbed hills and explored the woodlands, a spectacular backdrop was never far away.
Even the sky wanted to get involved; shining a warm, late summer light through the branches of the trees onto the happy couple when required, as well as darkening dramatically for a more serious tone a bit later in the day.
The ceremony itself then took place at the George Hotel. The mood there was sweet and smiley as friends and family watched the happy couple exchange their vows. It was very moving.
Champagne in the courtyard followed, along with outside games for the children present. During this time I took a few formal photos of family members. The meal was next and the speeches afterwards. A huge colourful berry cake is worth a mention, given that it was such a show-stealer. A great time was indeed had by all. Congratulations to Jing and Xing. I'd like to wish the newly-weds all the very best in their future together and raise a toast to their continuing to happiness.
