No matter how much preparation you put into your big day, some weddings simply don’t go to plan! This was the case with Harriet and Jamie’s marriage, not that the day was any less special because of it. The bride and groom simply had a few more obstacles to overcome.
For a start, there was the weather. It rained solidly all day long. However, that just gave us an excuse to jazz up the images with some matching wedding umbrellas. Then there was the case of the groom’s trousers. They weren’t there! The shop forgot to give them to him, not that this was discovered until the morning of the wedding itself. Still, having your mate drive round to your house to pick up a spare pair only adds to your collection of wedding day stories!
Nobody was in any doubt that this was a beautiful, touching and memorable celebration. Harriet and Jamie tied the knot at Ecclesfield Church in Sheffield, before taking their vintage car over to the reception venue; Tankersley Manor in Barnsley.
Determined not to let the weather spoil the mood of the day, we used the rain as a feature in some of the bride and groom portraits. A great time was had by all, both at the emotional ceremony and the hugely entertaining reception. The speeches were followed by shots and sparklers. By the time the cake and been cut,and the disco started, everyone was fully in the mood to hit the dance floor. I’d like to wish the happy couple all the very best!
