St James Chruch, Anston & Hodsock Priory - Laura & Ollie

Laura and Ollie were married at St James’ Church in Anston, before heading over to the beautiful Hodsock Priory for their wedding reception.

With Ollie serving in the Royal Navy, there were some brilliant military touches throughout the day. After the ceremony, Laura and Ollie left the church beneath a fantastic Royal Navy sword arch, followed by plenty of confetti and celebrations outside. The sword even made another appearance later on when it came time to cut the wedding cake!

Hodsock Priory made a cracking backdrop for the rest of the day. The old red-brick house, gardens and historic gatehouse gave us loads of different places for photographs without having to disappear for ages. We grabbed a few relaxed portraits of Laura and Ollie around the grounds, while still leaving them plenty of time to enjoy the reception with everyone else.

One particularly welcome guest was Archie the dog, who joined everyone at Hodsock for a couple of hours. Naturally, we had to get a few photographs with him — although I’m not entirely sure who was enjoying all the attention more, Archie or Laura!

The weather played ball too, which meant everyone could make the most of the gardens during the afternoon before heading inside for the evening celebrations.

And once the dancing started, there wasn’t much chance of anyone sitting down. Laura and Ollie had a ceilidh, which quickly got pretty lively and made for some brilliant photographs. Lots of spinning around, laughing and the occasional person looking slightly unsure about which direction they were supposed to be going!

A really relaxed, colourful wedding with a great crowd, a beautiful venue and plenty going on from start to finish.
