Whirlowbrook Hall - Sarah & John

Posted on 17th November 2023 by Mark Tierney

Sarah and John’s Christmas wedding was a vision of festive winter woodland and softly glowing lights, which gave the whole occasion a thoroughly romantic aura.

There was no getting away from the fact that the weather was wintry though! Snow lay on the ground. Freezing rain fell from the skies. And the lake at Whirlowbrook Hall, where the wedding took place, was partially frozen. But that didn’t stop us from braving the elements. We had two bride and groom portrait sessions. The first was immediately after the couple’s very moving ceremony, and the second took place in the evening, after the skies had grown dark and dramatic.

In between our jaunts outside, Sarah and John were busy enjoying their wonderful reception. Emotional speeches, energetic dancing, and the cutting of their spectacular green cake were all big highlights.

As Christmas weddings go, this one ticked all the boxes for me. It was a joyous occasion, beautifully decorated, and with a fantastic atmosphere. I’d like to wish the newlyweds all the very best in the run-up to their first festive wedding anniversary!
