Laura and Jack’s wedding was an extremely stylish affair. Their big day kicked off in the modern interior of St Bede’s Church in Rotherham, and was packed to the rafters with friends and family. The couple exchanged their vows in front of the altar, with Laura‘s impressive bridal train spread out on the floor behind them. It was a joyous occasion.
I took some reportage shots of the newlyweds being congratulated by their loved ones outside the church, in the car, and as they arrived at their spectacular reception venue; Wentworth House. If you’re a fan of period dramas, you might well recognise the place. Wentworth House has been used as a location on a number of hit TV shows including The Crown, and even Oscar-winning films! It’s an obvious choice for programmes that involve historical storytelling, thanks to its opulent vintage decor.
While the guests enjoyed canapés, I took some posed photos of everyone together on the steps and lawns outside. Then, when it then came to finding a backdrop for Laura and Jack’s bride and groom portraits, we were spoilt for choice. Bluebells and roses were in bloom and abundance, the tree-lined avenues were lush and green, and there were plenty of picturesque sculptures and structures too. The May sunlight should also get a special mention for doing its bit to contribute to the glory of the day.
This was a cinematic wedding by anyone’s standard, with love and warmth at its very heart. A beautiful day. I’d like to wish Laura and Jack all the very best in their lives together.
