Cath and Ben’s wedding reception guests thought they were attending a 30th birthday party and so were unexpectedly pleased to find themselves as guests at the wedding of their good friends as well. However, this wasn’t the only reason why this particular wedding was memorable.
The strong feelings the couple clearly have for one another, shown through obvious affection, gave the whole occasion an additional layer of romance that not only came across in the photos, but was also very apparent on the day.
The marriage took place at Sheffield Town Hall. Family members were in on the surprise and so attended the ceremony. We took some posed portraits of the newlyweds with family members outside in the winter sunshine afterwards. After that, Cath, Ben and I went for a walk around the city centre to get some couple portraits.
A balloon in the shape of the number 30 at the reception venue; The Leopold Hotel, was a reminder of the exciting announcement to come. After the speeches and we’d taken a few more couple shots on a bridge just as the sun was setting, we returned to tell the evening guests at The Couch the real reason why they were there.
As you can imagine, when Cath and Ben made their big announcement, this sparked a wave of well wishing and congratulations. It served to add an extra, exciting element to the day.
Everyone laughed and danced the night away to the band. It was a superb wedding. All the very best to both Cath and Ben; whom I’m sure will be very happy together.
