Peckforton Castle Wedding, Cheshire, Jenna & Nick

Posted on 10th February 2015 by Mark Tierney

With a strong emphasis on fun, Jenna and Nick were married at Peckforton Castle, which really is dramatically castle-y! The suits of armour and heraldry only added to the medieval vibe of the beautifully lit stone interior, where the ceremony was held. Jenna looked stunning in a red dress and Nick looked very dapper too! Despite the non-traditional elements of the marriage, the sentiment was no less touching and there were a few joyful tears. This is a couple who's affection for one another is infectious.

Following the ceremony, the newly-weds and I went out for a walk in the castle grounds and we managed to get some great shots in the last of the gorgeous autumn sunlight. Jenna and Nick are so comfortable with one another, it wasn't difficult to capture how they were feeling! The wedding breakfast was held back in the exquisitely decorated castle dining room. There was incredibly chocolatey wedding cake and I think a special mention is needed for the best man's hilarious speech and the bride and groom's lovely joint speech.

Sparklers outside and then dancing followed the meal. The dancing took place in the impressively constructed wine cellar bar, which had a huge central structure giving the whole room a very unique feel. True to their non-traditional theme, the first dance was a cha cha slide, in which all the guests were encouraged to partake. Let's just say not everybody got it right, not even the supposed experts, but a superb time was had by all. I'd like to raise a chalice to the happy couple and wish them all the very best in their future together.
