Aston Church & Wentworth Castle Gardens - Selena & Paul

Posted on 5th October 2016 by Mark Tierney

Selena and Paul were married against the backdrop of the beautiful stained glass windows of Aston Church in South Yorkshire. It was a moving occasion in the picturesque 12th century church.

The bride and groom arrived at their reception venue in style; in a white vintage car, clutching a glass of champagne. They promptly swapped their champagne for Pimms and we took a few family and group shots on the lawns. The couple were then cheered into the room as they arrived at their wedding breakfast. It's worth noting that the speeches which followed, contained just the right combination of emotion and inspiration.

I did manage to steal Selena and Paul away for some couple shots in the nearby woods afterwards and our timing was perfect. Dappled sunlight shone through the leaves of the impressively tall trees and added a warm autumnal glow to the proceedings. We helped Selena up and down the little, steep hills because her heels seemed determined to trip her up, but she was game for a bit of a trek and this was great, as we got some lovely images outside the main castle building.

As late afternoon soon gave way to evening, we headed back to the marquee to stuff ourselves full of sweets and cake, as well as dance the night away. A truly gorgeous wedding for a joyful, fun-loving couple. I'd like to wish them all the very best!
