Wentworth Castle Conservatory Wedding Photography - Chris & Lisa

Posted on 24th June 2014 by Mark Tierney

Chris and Lisa's wedding was elegant, romantic and stylish, this big day was an especially exciting one for me. I've photographed many weddings at Wentworth Castle in Barnsley over the years, but this was the first time I'd been in the newly restored Victorian conservatory!

What a grand venue! It would be impossible to imagine anything unspectacular happening here and let me reassure you, this wedding did not disappoint! The couple's beautiful ceremony was a visual treat of fancy foliage, ornate decoration and a very smiley bride and groom bathed in the sunlight that shone through the glass roof. Lisa and Chris's happiness was infectious too. It was clear a great time was had by all.

Following the ceremony, Lisa, Chris and I took ourselves off for a few shots of the couple by themselves. We walked up hills and through gardens, using the stunning architecture as the backdrop. The colourful blooms which sprang up everywhere only added to the summery mood of the day.

The reception provided great entertainment. As well as the roulette wheel and various other casino games, the guests thoroughly enjoyed the best man's speech, even if some of the stories did make the bridegroom blush!

This was the perfect venue for a gorgeous garden wedding and the perfect occasion to show off the restored building. Wishing Chris and Lisa much happiness in the future.

The wedding planner for Chris & Lisa's big day was award winning Unique Wedding Planning.
