It was a real privilege to be amongst such talented musical company at Harriet and Tom's Yorkshire wedding. The bride studied music at university and has sung in many choirs since, which meant many of the friends and family present at this big day knew how to create a beautiful tune or two. Usher, Simon; a composer by profession, wrote an original song for the occasion, and the fanfare quartet consisted of two ushers and Tom's dad.
The ceremony took place at the spectacular Sun Pavilion in Harrogate. This light, airy space was filled with colourful flowers and plenty of sunshine when the bride and groom exchanged their vows. The weather was almost certainly in sync with the joyous mood of the day.
Drinks on the huge lawns took place afterwards where I took quite a few group shots. It was then time to get the couple on their own for a while, to take some newlywed shots under the ornate glass ceiling and amongst the flowers outside. The garden walkways were in full bloom and guests who weren't lazing in the sun, took advantage of the trails.
The reception was held at the Old Swan Hotel, which was decorated artfully with lots and lots of paper poms poms. Everybody ate, everybody enjoyed the speeches, and everybody basked in the romantic mood of the room. I managed to squeeze in a few more exterior shots of the couple as the summer sky began to darken, but it wasn't long before there was just enough light for the very last game of croquet of the day.
The evening gave way to a lively night, with a crowded dance floor and yet more glorious music, this time courtesy of a 'mini' big band. I'd like to wish Tom and Harriet all the very best in their future together.
