Some weddings are naturally more joyous than others, as was the case with Clare and James’s special day. It wasn’t just that the bride and groom couldn’t stop smiling at one another, but the excited mood of friends and family was infectious. It was a very happy occasion, filled with laughter. It was a real pleasure to photograph.
Exquisite vintage cars delivered the bride to the grand country house at Swancar Farm in time to make her dramatic entrance. A harpist was on hand to provide accompanying music. After a touching ceremony, we took some group shots outside before the newly-weds and I went for a walk around the grounds to get a few pictures around the pavilion and hedgerows.
By the time we got back it was time for Clare and James to receive a round of applause as they entered the dining room as husband and wife for the first time. Speeches followed the meals and with renewed energy some of the kids headed outdoors for running and hiding games. As far as I know the little bridesmaids managed to keep their glamorous dresses intact!
We managed to grab a few more shots of the happy couple outside against the darkening skies, before the cake-cutting and disco got underway. The band was an additional treat. I had great fun working with James and Clare and I’d like to wish them all the very best in their future together.
