Which is warmer? The Californian sunshine, or the Sheffield sunshine? Under the beautiful blue skies of Leann and Dwight's wedding it was hard to tell. One thing was for sure though, Dwight would look cool in those shades on either side of the Atlantic!
With Dwight and his family hailing from the West coast of America, this bride and groom's big day was a Sheffield-based transatlantic spectacular. The ceremony took place at St Johns the Baptist Church and the reception took place at the Countryside Centre.
A choir kept everybody entertained until the bride made her entrance and what an entrance it was! Leann arrived in a vintage car, wearing an exquisite dress, which she had made herself! The couple wrapped their arms around one another, once their vows had been exchanged and the romance of the moment wasn't lost on anybody.
We took quite a few group and family photos outside the church, on the vintage bus the couple had hired for their guests, and at the reception venue. A band played while the wedding party and their friends basked lazily on the warm grass. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere made everything all the more enjoyable.
I did manage to steal the couple away for some newlywed photos together, with just the two of them; in the gardens and outside the house, both during the daylight hours and as the sun began to set. Leann and Dwight were a real pleasure to photograph.
After a lovely buffet, some emotional speeches and the cutting of the cake, the couple lead everyone onto the dance floor. It was a memorable day and I'd like to raise a glass in their honour! To the happy couple!
