Maura and Rob's big day took place at Losehill House in the Peak District and it wasn't just the venue and its stunning grounds that provided a feast for the eyes, but also the quirky little touches provided by the couple. Visually it really was a stand-out wedding and a photographer's dream! Beautiful paper lanterns with fairy lights lit the path from the main house to the yurt, where an exciting-looking raised fire pit kept everybody warm. The favours placed on the table for the guests were thoughtful and just a little bit unusual, as were the confetti filled balloons for the children.
After the ceremony, we took some photos outside. This part of the Hope Valley made for a lush, rural backdrop. The weather wasn't always on our side during the day, but Rob and Maura's faces, beaming at one another was enough to brighten everybody's day.
Maura and Rob's daughter, Orla was presented with a surprise birthday cake, to celebrate her birthday which had taken place a few days before. The couple's chocolate wedding cake was a construct of delicate engineering and it tasted great too.
The wedding breakfast was followed by some pretty moving speeches and then the band began to play. At this point everybody well and truly threw themselves into the dancing. It was a memorably joyful wedding. I'd like to raise a glass in celebration and wish the happy couple all the best for the future.

My wedding dress supplied and fitted by The Bridal House Jo and Claire. I have known Jo for a number of years (a lovely friend) and she made my bridesmaid dress for my sisters wedding. Being a working mum of 2 young children and little time to myself I needed someone I could trust for an honest opinion and who I knew supplied gorgeous dresses. My choice of dress was the one of 4 ever tried on!
