It's not often I balance a bride and groom precariously on a high ridge in the Peak District to get the perfect photo, but on this occasion I was very much guided by them. Rachel and Jack are keen hikers so it seems very fitting that their wedding should take place at Losehill House, right in the wild heart of Derbyshire.
After a beautiful ceremony, filled with lots of touching, funny and memorable moments, I scrambled up a steep hill at Winnat's Pass behind the Bestman as he used a bridal umbrella like a grappling hook! Rachel's wedding gown was no obstacle to getting up and down the hills either. She simply hiked it up.
Back at the reception we basked in the warm sunshine before it was time for the wedding breakfast to take place. You know you've had good weather at your wedding when your photos show just how many guests were wearing sunglasses!
After the meal there were some very moving toasts, the cake was cut and then the dancefloor was well and truly hit...in style. The excellent band got everybody swaying.
Jack and Rachel's big day was exceptional in many ways. It was worth the climb to get the perfect, romantic shot. I'd like to thank the happy couple for being so adventurous on their big day and wish them all the very best of happy hiking in their future together!
