Kelly and Edward's sunny Christmas marriage at Handsworth Church involved a traditional ceremony with a modern twist. The result was a very emotional occasion with lashings of style. Ironic flat caps, alternative ties and Doc Martin boots combined with lace, candles and enormous rose bouquets made for a visual spectacular, one which was very moving. It was a joy and a pleasure to be part of their big day.
After the church, guests were handed mini bottles of wine and a straw as they clambered on board the vintage wedding bus. This was the signal that the after-party had officially begun. We took a few shots outside but despite the sunshine it was quite cold and a bit of foot warming near the fire was required afterwards.
The reception took place in the elegantly rustic reception room at The Cricketers Inn in Sheffield and most guests managed to restrain themselves from writing anything too X-rated on the blackboard! An exquisite meal was followed by the cutting of an impressive cheese wheel cake and before we knew it Kelly and Edward were making their way through the impromptu arm-constructed archway into their taxi, on their way to the airport.
The guests, who are determined that Kelly & Edward were to have a good send off, accompanied them. This was a very touching wedding filled with some fantastic characters. I raise a glass to all of you, but especially the happy couple.
