With some weddings, the close bond between the couple getting married and their guests gives the room a special atmosphere. This was certainly the case on Philippa and Michael's big day at Goldsborough Hall in North Yorkshire. From the moment the bride made her entrance to the final pronouncing of “Husband and Wife”, there was hardly a dry eye in the house. It was a very emotional ceremony and to my mind this made the occasion all the more joyful and memorable.
When the newly-weds emerged into the impressive grounds of the venue, the Formula 1 theme of the day became apparent. The couple's shiny red transport was revealed and everybody got quite excitable! There was a lot of greeting and kissing and some guests even chucked their confetti baskets at the bride and groom, along with the confetti!
It was at this point that I managed to steal Philippa and Michael away from their guests in order to take a few shots of the couple by themselves in the beautiful grounds.
Back at the reception, the pork pie table certainly needs a mention. Not only was a cupcake stand filled to bursting with miniature pork pies, but the wedding pie cake itself had been exquisitely personalised in pastry. A lovely touch! The first dance followed some really moving speeches and I think it's fair to say all those present couldn't help but be swept up in the romance of the day. Wishing all the best to a truly brilliant couple.
