The weather may not have been kind to Liz and Patrick, but their colourful wedding certainly brightened the day. The ceremony took place at Darley Dale Church, which had a handy hedge outside to provide shelter for the bridesmaids!
With its cosy atmosphere, two tremendous readings and a wonderful couple exchanging their vows in front of friends and family, this was truly a heart-melting occasion. Afterwards, the rain stopped long enough for the wedding guests to form a long line through the church gardens, down which the happy couple made their way, being showered with confetti from every angle as they did so.
The reception venue was just a short drive away, at the very picturesque Thornbridge Hall. Drinks and canapés were served both inside and out, as we took a few group photographs. The skies darkened a little then and it made sense to take some couple shots against the dramatic backdrop. Liz, Patrick and I wandered around the grounds of the hall, discovering beautifully manicured gardens and an ornate bench, perfect for two newly-weds.
Back inside, everyone enjoyed a lavish wedding breakfast, complete with magnificent cheese wheel before it was time for the speeches, the cutting of the towering cake and a disco.
Not only was it obvious that a great time had been enjoyed by all, but also, that this is a couple who can't stop grinning at one another. I definitely think this bodes well for their future together and I'd like to wish them all the very best!
