Callow Hall, Ashbourne, Derbyshire - Ellen & Steve

Posted on 6th August 2014 by Mark Tierney

From the moment we began Ellen and Steve’s sunny engagement shoot outside St Paul's Cathedral, it was obvious that theirs was going to be a very special wedding! At one point Steve was literally floating on air!

Also I need to mention that Ellen and Steve are seriously fun! When it came to the big day itself, they weren’t about to let the dark, brooding rain clouds at their beautiful outdoor ceremony dampen their spirits! It was smiles all round. With lace details, light pastel colours, and some spectacular origami swan centrepieces, the marquee at Callow Hall in Derbyshire was a bright and welcoming haven amidst all the brightly coloured umbrellas.

Inside the marquee, there were sweets, candyfloss and some very messy wedding cake-eating (courtesy of the bride and groom). Outside, guests were treated to a mini highland games, with welly-wanging, archery and space hoppers, not to mention a surprise piper up a tree! The couple threw themselves heartily into every activity (Could it be that Ellen secretly throws wellies professionally? I wouldn’t be surprised) and every person there had an extraordinarily joyful time.

This is a couple who clearly enjoys a good party, but it was also touching to note that when they looked at one another, they were oblivious to anyone else. Love-filled, feel-good and tremendous fun is the only way to describe this exceptional wedding.
