Winter Snow at Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire - Part I

22nd December 2009

The big freeze continues in the UK with more travel chaos is expected! is all you seem to hear these days. I love it when it snows because the landscape is transformed by a blanket of snow. I’ve took advantage of the freezing Christmas weather and photographed one of my favourite local beauty spots, Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire. The Lime Tree Avenue at Clumber Park is the longest of its kind in Europe. Planted in about 1840, it is almost 2 miles long and consists of 1,296 common limes planted in a double row on each side of a drive.
