Peak District Wedding Photography, The Maynard Hotel, Derbyshire - Katie & John

Posted on 21st June 2011 by Mark Tierney

Here are some of my favourite images that I took at Katie and John’s wedding. The happy couple were married on a beautiful spring day at the Maynard Hotel at Grindleford in the Peak District, Derbyshire. This is one of my ultimate locations for wedding photography - a stylish venue surrounded by stunning countryside, and luckily for me the adventurous couple were more than happy to make the most of the location. I recently met Katie and John for a pre-wedding shoot at nearby Padley Gorge and as the weather was on our side we returned to the beauty spot for some creative wedding photography. I always recommend that the bride and groom escape their wedding party for a short time to give them some time to relax together and enjoy each others company - an ideal chance for me to capture the creative, intimate photographs. Many brides are reluctant to venture to local countryside on their wedding day for fear of ruining their dress or shoes but Katie, very sensibly, simply changed her footwear and in return the couple have some dramatic images to remember their special day.
