Nicky & Martyn’s Wedding - Kirk Sandall Church & The Holiday Inn Hotel - Doncaster, South Yorkshire

Monday, 12 July, 2010

When Nicky and Martyn booked me to be their wedding photographer I knew I would have a great time with them. l love photographing couples who are adventurous and on their wedding day – when I spotted a poppy field not far from the church – I knew I had to take them for a little stroll wink After the marriage ceremony at Kirk Sandall Church we made the short journey to the poppy field. I always take with me a ground cover to protect the wedding dress in these situations - just in case! In years to come I am sure they will be delighted that they spent just 15 minutes out of their wedding day to capture some unique images for their wedding album. After the poppy field we made our way to the wedding reception at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Doncaster. Nicky and Martyn hired a vintage double decker bus for the wedding party so I had the opportunity to photograph the happy couple inside the old bus. Later in the evening we all ventured into the old Warmsworth Hall for some intimate low light photography. I love low light photography, especially if you have very passionate couple like Nicky and Martyn to photograph! I would also like to say a big thank you to Nicky’s brother Paul for helping me on the day! If you haven’t already seen them, have a look at their urban pre-wedding photography taken in Sheffield city centre. Here are some of my favourite images from their special day.
